Activity Title:

The Development of Electricity Regulatory Instruments for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique

Details:

The Government of Grenada (GOG) has secured funding through the World Bank (WB) to pursue the Caribbean Efficient and Green-Energy Buildings Project (CEGEB) Project. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to increase the share of utility-scale renewable energy generation and private-sector participation in renewable energy development in Grenada.

The electricity sector in Grenada has also undergone significant evolution since the initial development of these instruments, particularly in relation to renewable energy integration, independent power producer participation, distributed generation, competitive procurement processes, and broader sector modernization initiatives. As a result, the Commission seeks targeted technical assistance to support the refinement and finalization of these regulatory instruments. This consultancy supports the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in The review and enhancement of the existing Electricity Regulatory Reporting Framework; The review, update, and finalization of the Electricity Network Licence (Transmission and Distribution); and The review, update, and finalization of the Electricity Generation Licence.
